ELC Technologies’ RightCart Powers New Buy.com Garage Sale Initiative
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (August 10, 2007) – ELC Technologies, a leading developer of enterprise and web technology developed using Ruby on Rails, is powering Buy.com’s new Garage Sale service. RightCart, an embeddable shopping cart that makes it easy for content publishers to sell products directly from their website, was developed by ELC Technologies and acquired by Buy.com to power its new Garage Sale service.
RightCart is the first service of its kind developed exclusively in Ruby on Rails for commercial web applications. It not only opens new possibilities for commercializing the web, but also demonstrates the power of the open source Ruby on Rails as an emerging development platform for enterprise applications that previously had to be developed in Java or .NET.
